frequently asked questions

What concerns may medical massage support?

Medical massage may support people experiencing muscle tension, discomfort, activity-related concerns, stress, headaches, or changes in mobility. It may also complement an established healthcare, injury-recovery, or wellness plan.

Every session is individualized. Your massage therapist will consider your needs, comfort, health history, and goals when selecting appropriate techniques.

Can medical massage be billed to insurance?

Insurance billing may be available for eligible patients. Coverage, authorization requirements, visit limits, and patient responsibility vary by plan.

Please contact Wellness Pointe before scheduling to confirm that your plan is currently accepted and to understand any referral or authorization requirements. Insurance coverage is not guaranteed.

Do I need a referral?

A referral is required for medical massage appointments billed to insurance or a secondary payer. This policy helps ensure that the appropriate documentation is available and that care can be coordinated when needed.

Contact Wellness Pointe before scheduling if you have questions about obtaining or submitting a referral.

How long are medical massage appointments?

Medical massage appointments may range from 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the appointment type, your needs, your goals, and current availability.
